Holiday How-To

I'd be lying if I said clothes don't make the holiday season significantly more fun. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty in the season itself that I love, but putting together outfits and mixing last year's clothes into this year's trends is one of the best feelings ever. There's just this feeling of accomplishment I get when I finally put together one hell of an outfit. I know, most of you are now thinking how completely crazy I am that clothes can bring me this much excitement, but if you haven't figured out by now just how crazy for clothes I am, then you must be crazy yourself!
So, because I'm totally obsessed with dressing for the holidays, I've put together a little holiday guide for dressing the part of a little fashionista. And yes, I fully intend to follow this myself, so hopefully I don't run into anyone who's doing the same!
The first outfit, travel day, is perfectly cozy with a hint of badass. It's about as basic as you can get, but each piece is carrying a different trend, which I love. Not to mention, it's super easy to get through security in; just take off your boots, and you're good to go!
Next up, we've got my personal favorite, which is basically your über flexible outfit. Dress it up with fancy jewelry to go out to dinner or dress it down with a slouchy bag to go to the mall. Either way, I'm obsessed with it. I know you might be thinking the green flared pants are a teensy bit out there, so if you're feeling skeptical just wear them in denim...otherwise be edgy and go for the jade; I know I will! And the fur vest? Well, you know how obsessed I am with that (still!).
Here comes the best outfit for all my fellow lazy bums out there: Lounging. Sure, watching tv, doing some cooking, or just hanging around the house is all about being comfortable and relaxed, but people please, that is no excuse to throw on some baggy sweatpants! (Unless you're sick...then I guess you have an excuse) I know it sucks sometimes, but hey, the life of a fashionista is not a simple one!
Now, for this last outfit, expect to be turning some heads in this one. It's perfectly edgy while being super sophisticated at the same time. Keep in mind: this outfit is super flexible when it comes to choosing look-a-likes, but what I would focus on is keeping everything black except for one piece (which should be a jewel tone) and choosing a unique jacket and unique shoes (i.e. sparkles, leather, sequins, and spikes). And, if you don't get at least 5 compliments wearing it, I promise to take the blame. But I have a feeling that won't be happening...
Well, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all, and may this be your most fashionable holiday season yet!

                         Meg
