Rainy Day Blues Be Gone

April showers may bring May flowers, but it appears that down here in Miami, the first day of Spring brings thunderstorms--hurricane-like thunderstorms, that is!  Thus, in honor yesterday's first-of-Spring downpour, I've posted some of my favorite rainy day accessories. Besides, when else can you rock a hot pink umbrella with moto-inspired rain boots?

Whether you're on your way to work or headed to class, the most important thing for dressing is to stay dry.  Oh, who am I kidding? Looking cute is number one...then comes staying dry! The thing to keep in mind is to always wear dark colors when going out in the rain; the last thing you want (and the first thing some guys want) is to look down and realize your super cute white top isn't so white anymore.  Another tip is to make sure that when choosing to wear heels in the rain, having some sort of ankle strap is key. Wet feet + slip-on heels = no good.  Lastly: layer, layer, layer!  Layering ensures a successful rainy day outfit, so that when one layer gets wet, you've got a back up right underneath.

To top off you're most musically fashionable rainy day yet, listen to Blood by The Middle East. The name sounds a bit scary, I know, but I promise it's a perfect tame song for a perfect rainy day. Until next time, enjoy those april showers!
